Our core mission reflects taking PRIDE in all we do - Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, Excellence

1)  If your worth and the structure of your assets is publicly available*, why pay Kintera $30,000 to do the job?  Isn't that the Foundation's job?  Remember. the University "contributed" $1,367,512 to the Foundation in 2005 and hires and pays all the employees.

According to the operating agreement between The University of Southern Mississippi and The Foundation:
the Foundation shall be responsible for conducting on behalf of the University, as specifically requested by the University, goal-specific fundraising activities, campaigns and development initiatives (collectively, the “Programs”) for the purpose of securing financial support from alumni, parents, friends, corporations, foundations, and others, for the benefit of the University.

The services to be performed by the Foundation hereunder shall include, but not be limited to:
F. Directing the services of a professional staff for major gifts, gift planning and corporate and foundation development activities, prospect research, donor stewardship, investments, accounting and disbursement.

2)  Who is paying Kintera?  Students?  Taxpayers?  Donors?  We don't know.  Dr. Doty may consider your worth and structure of assets as public information, but how Foundation money is spent is TOP SECRET.  However, I think it is fair to say neither Dean Doty nor any other administrator is pulling money out of his/her pocket to foot the bill.   Click here for more questions.
* Dean Doty seems to have a rather unusual sense of what is confidential.  While your worth and the structure of your assets is considered "publicly available", the vita of faculty who are paid with tax dollars are confidential.
